Dear NERSC users, NERSC will host a training event on Using HPE Cray Programming Environment to Port and Optimize Applications to a GPU Environment using OpenMP Offload or OpenACC! on Dec 7. This training will be offered online only. This training presented by HPE Distinguished Technologist John Levesque will demonstrate how the HPE Cray Programming Environment can be used to port codes to hybrid systems with GPUs via OpenMP Offload and/or OpenACC directives. The three-hour tutorial will have lectures and hands-on exercises throughout, to help attendees learn about the compiler, performance analysis tools, and debuggers targeting GPU usage. Attendees can bring their own applications or work on example codes. The tutorial will cover the process of taking an all-MPI application and first identifying the computational bottlenecks using performance analysis tools and then incrementally adding GPU directives to move the application to the GPU. Performance analysis tools will then be used to analyze the performance of the application running on the GPU to identify data motion, computational bottleneck, etc. For more details and to register, please see https://www.nersc.gov/using-hpe-programming-env-for-gpus-dec2023.
