[Users] Disruptive Maintenance on Perlmutter Scheduled for Tomorrow

Dear NERSC Users, Tomorrow's scheduled maintenance for Perlmutter was originally planned to be a minimally-disruptive, rolling maintenance. However, we have a critical fix for an issue that was causing intermittent failure for user jobs at large scale, and to deploy this we will need to take the scratch file system, the batch system, and the login nodes offline. This means that *all of Perlmutter will be unavailable for the duration of tomorrow’s maintenance*. We apologize for the late notice for this more disruptive work. The ability to perform most maintenance work in a minimally-disruptive, rolling manner is a new feature for NERSC systems. While tomorrow's maintenance will not be the last disruptive one, most future maintenance work will look more like last week's rolling reboot, with minimal user impact. Please watch the MOTD and Perlmutter timeline page <https://docs.nersc.gov/systems/perlmutter/timeline/> for details.
