Dear NERSC Users, In order to reproduce, identify, and fix the root cause of the error that led to the recent cscratch1 crash, we will be integrating an additional ADU (secondary metadata server) into cscratch1. This work will take place on this coming Monday, October 19, between 7am and 11am Pacific Time. During that time Cori queues will be stopped, and cscratch1 will be unmounted everywhere: Cori login and compute nodes, corigpu nodes, cmem (large memory), and exvivo nodes as well as the data transfer nodes will be affected. Users will still be able to log in and access $HOME and CFS file systems. The additional ADU will allow the investigation of the root cause of the recent crashes to continue - unlike the primary metadata server this secondary server can be crashed without impacting other users. Thanks for your support as we work to conclusively resolve this issue, Steve -- Steve Leak NERSC User Engagement _______________________________________________ Users mailing list Users@nersc.gov
